So Close

This move has been painfully slow. While there were definitely some off days, we've been at it for almost 12 days now.

Wood checked out about a week ago. His back has been bothering him something feirce since the biggest push took place that first Friday. Even after the yard sale we had tons of stuff left over. I gave oodles of it to the art teacher, I offered it up for free to anyone who would listen (although, Bam was the real pusher of goods, asking people over and over again if they'd take the damned fish tank), to no avail.

Thank goodness I asked for help from a colleague's boyfriend who works evenings - both for that first day and yesterday. He and Wood did the heavy lifting oh, so-long ago and Boyfriend and two of his young-buck friends got the rest out last night.

I tried so hard to get a local agency to pick up the leftovers, an agency that isn't Goodwill, isn't Salvation Army. I tried with an email and a phone call but they were completely unresponsive. Frustrating as all get out, I tell you! 1. I wanted to do a good thing and 2. It is an agency I come into contact with at work. In the end it was donated and I have my tax deduction receipt, which was the goal. I now know - for next time.

I'm overflowing with thankfulness for the help of Boyfriend and his friends (and Bam, she leaves super early in the morning and we didn't get a lot of down time...I was quite annoyed with her. Can you say PMS? And we didn't really get to the crocheting lesson I specifically asked for. Oh, well.) - all that is left is the fish tank and sewing machine stand, and a plant. Of course, there is a little bit of cleaning that needs to be done. But I stress the little bit. My mom rocked the cleaning part! She was a lifesaver again, I tell  you.

We should be out of there a day early. It's so close I can taste it.
